Learn to Read

This Privacy Policy applies to SnackPack Learn to Read, a child-focused learning app published by SnackPack Studios. It explains what information the app handles, how that information is used, and what choices parents and users have.

Effective date: August 20, 2026

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to SnackPack Learn to Read on Android, iOS, and any later supported platforms. If you use this app, this page describes how information related to your use of the app may be collected, stored, processed, or shared.

Child-directed app status

SnackPack Learn to Read is designed for young children and family use. For Google Play launch planning, this app should be treated as a child-directed learning app. SnackPack Studios does not use this app to sell personal information, run interest-based ads, or require a child account for core app use.

Information stored on the device

  • Birth year: The app stores a birth year locally on the device to support child or adult mode behavior inside the app.
  • Learning progress: The app stores completed letters, completed books, read stories, quiz scores, streaks, earned badges, session minutes, and the last read book locally on the device.
  • Preferences: The app stores selected colour theme, sound-effects preference, and similar settings locally on the device.
  • Unlock status: The app stores Pro unlock state and individually unlocked books locally on the device.

Information not required for core use

  • No account required: Learn to Read does not require sign-in, account creation, or profile registration to use the core app experience.
  • No ads: The app does not contain advertising.
  • No advertising analytics: The app does not include Firebase Analytics, AdMob, or a third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDK.
  • No payment details collected by the app: The app offers an optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the full library. Purchases are processed by Google Play and RevenueCat; SnackPack Studios does not receive or store your payment card details.

How information is used

  • To operate the app: including saving detailed learning progress, unlock state, preferences, and age-mode behavior on the device.
  • To provide child safety behavior: including the birth-year-based mode stored only on the device.
  • To understand app use: including whether users move from opening the app to sampling activities, reading books, or completing a first reader, and whether a purchase screen is reached.
  • To provide and restore purchases: including checking the Full Library entitlement through Google Play and RevenueCat.
  • To respond to support or deletion requests: if a parent or user contacts SnackPack Studios directly by email.

Network access and off-device transmission

Learn to Read is local-first: detailed learning progress and birth year remain on the device and are not synced to a SnackPack account. The app uses RevenueCat for the optional Full Library purchase. In verified adult mode only, it also sends an anonymous RevenueCat customer record a coarse engagement level, Pro status, a banded count of paywall views, whether the paywall was reached from a book or general browsing, whether the hosted or fallback paywall appeared, and a normalized purchase outcome such as purchased, restored, cancelled, dismissed, failed, or unavailable. Child and unknown-age modes send no custom analytics attributes. The app does not send RevenueCat a name, email address, birth year, book title, raw score, detailed reading history, session duration, or advertising identifier. Google Play and RevenueCat may still process technical and transaction information needed to provide purchases and distribution in every mode.

Children's privacy and store review position

Because this app is intended for children, SnackPack Studios aims to comply with child-directed app requirements, including blocking advertising ID permission, avoiding precise location collection, avoiding unnecessary permissions, and limiting off-device data. RevenueCat is used in every mode only as needed for purchase and entitlement operation; custom engagement and paywall analytics attributes are additionally enabled only after the local age screen establishes adult mode. The data is not used for advertising, profiling for advertising, or cross-app tracking. This policy is accessible from the app and store listing.

Sharing and disclosure

SnackPack Studios does not sell personal information. Limited information is shared with Google Play and RevenueCat to operate purchases and understand coarse app engagement as described above. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to respond to a lawful request. Learning information is not shared with advertisers or third-party marketing SDKs.

Retention and deletion

Locally stored app information generally remains on the device until it is reset in the app, cleared through device settings, or removed by uninstalling the app. For verified adult mode, resetting progress causes the next successful analytics sync to overwrite the remote engagement level with "installed"; purchase and paywall records may remain for transaction integrity and aggregate analytics. A parent may request deletion of the associated anonymous RevenueCat customer data by opening Settings > Privacy or Data Request in the app. This prepares an email to privacy@snackpackuniverse.com containing the anonymous RevenueCat App User ID needed to locate the record. Support and deletion-request emails may be retained for follow-up and legal recordkeeping.

Security

SnackPack Studios uses reasonable administrative and technical measures to help protect information handled by the app. Some values, such as birth year, may be stored using platform-supported secure local storage where available. No security method can guarantee absolute protection, but the app is intended to minimize unnecessary data collection.

Your choices

  • Local app data: You can remove locally stored learning data by using the in-app reset feature, clearing app storage through device settings, or uninstalling the app.
  • RevenueCat data: A parent may request deletion by contacting privacy@snackpackuniverse.com. Uninstalling alone does not necessarily delete transaction or analytics records already held by platform providers.
  • Support contact: You can choose whether to contact SnackPack Studios by email.

Platform-specific privacy requirements

Learn to Read is distributed on Google Play and may also be submitted to the Apple App Store. For Apple review, the iOS build is expected to keep its app-level privacy manifest current for any required-reason APIs used by shipped dependencies such as secure local storage, preferences storage, timing, or file access. If the Android and iOS builds differ in permissions, billing, SDKs, or data handling, this policy and the related store disclosures will be updated accordingly before release.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page is the current version, and the effective date will be updated when material changes are made.

Contact

If you have privacy questions or support requests about SnackPack Learn to Read, contact privacy@snackpackuniverse.com.

This policy gives Learn to Read a stable privacy URL for Google Play and Apple App Store listing requirements. Play Console Data safety answers, App Store privacy disclosures, target-audience settings, and iOS privacy-manifest entries should be reviewed against each shipped build, especially if billing, external SDKs, or additional permissions are introduced.
